Dr. Billy DeMoss, D.C.

Owner and lead chiropractor. Forty years adjusting in Newport Beach, and still of the view that a patient who understands their own spine gets better results than one who is simply told what to do.

Dr. Billy opened the doors in Newport Beach four decades ago and has adjusted several generations of the same families since. The practice grew almost entirely by word of mouth, which shaped how it runs: unhurried visits, plain explanations, and no interest in selling care that is not needed.

His approach starts from teaching rather than treating. Most people arrive knowing only that something hurts. He will show you what the examination found, what the imaging shows if we took any, and what the joint is actually doing — because the two or three habits you change between visits usually matter more than the adjustment itself.

Clinically he works across Gonstead, Diversified, Thompson Drop and Activator methods, matching the technique to the patient's body and comfort rather than to habit. Patients who dislike the sensation of a manual adjustment are treated with low-force instrument work from the first visit, and told so up front.

Beyond the office he has spent much of his career on chiropractic education, speaking to and organising events for doctors across the profession — the same educate-and-empower conviction, aimed at colleagues instead of patients.

He sees the full range of what walks through the door: back and neck pain, sciatica and disc injuries, headaches, collision injuries, and pregnant patients and children. He also practises alongside his brother, Dr. Joe DeMoss.

Forty years of hands on spines. Some adjustments happen seated, some on the table, some with an instrument. The method changes; the aim — restore the movement, explain what you found — does not.

Dr. Joe DeMoss, D.C.

Thirty years adjusting in Newport Beach, alongside his brother. He would rather explain what your body is doing than hand you a plan and expect you to follow it.

Dr. Joe DeMoss has practiced alongside his brother in Newport Beach for over three decades. His approach starts from teaching: he wants patients to understand how their body actually works, because a patient who understands what's happening makes better decisions about their own health.

He graduated from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1993, after undergraduate study at Cal State Fullerton. Like the rest of the practice, his focus is helping people get back to living well — without leaning on anything they don't need.

He sees the full range of what walks through the door: back and neck pain, sciatica and disc injuries, headaches, collision injuries, and pregnant patients and children. He also practises alongside his brother, Dr. Billy DeMoss.

Hands on, every visit.Dr. Joe works mainly by hand, matching the contact to the patient in front of him — lighter for a first visit or a nervous patient, firmer once the spine is used to being moved.
