Your first visit

Chiropractor Visit Newport Beach

Most people have not been to a chiropractor before and are not sure what they are walking into. Here is the whole thing, in order, so there are no surprises.

What a Chiropractic Visit in Newport Beach involves

Plan on about forty-five minutes. Your first chiropractic visit is mostly conversation and examination — the treatment is usually the shortest part of it.

The conversation

What brought you in, when it started, what you were doing, what makes it better or worse, what you have already tried, and what it has stopped you doing. We also ask about your general health and medications, because both change what is appropriate.

The examination

How you move, where the range is limited, joint play segment by segment, and a neurological screen if there are symptoms travelling into an arm or leg. Imaging only if it will change the plan.

The explanation

What we think is going on, in plain language, and what we propose to do about it. You should leave able to explain it to someone else. If you cannot, we have not done that part properly.

Treatment

Usually on the same visit, unless the examination suggests we should wait. Adjusting, soft-tissue work, or an instrument-based technique depending on what fits.

Practical details

Wear something you can move in. Bring any recent imaging or reports if you have them, and a list of medications. Fill in the intake form beforehand if you can — it is on the patient forms page and it saves fifteen minutes.

Cost and insurance

We take most major carriers and will check your benefits before you come in if you call ahead on (949) 250-0600. The payments and insurance page has the current list.
